-most people have military expirience, in russian army (many ukrainians serving on contract) and Ukrainain army who fought in - Chechnya, middle east, Iraq, Yugoslavia, even some who fought in Syria: a very wide geography i.e. people from everywhere that participated in conflicts on different sides and circumstances.
-Origin of weapons: occupied and taken weapons from UVD (police) of Slavyansk, some of the 25th mobile VDV brigade switched or gave away their weapons, disarmed some Ukraininan border patrol groups (150 guns, RPGs and lot of ammunition are taken from Border Patrol), then SBU. Aquired 6 armored vechiles.
- Claims they do not do attack raids/mission, exclusively defending the current territories.
- Listing as opposed forces 25th VDV brigade, and 95th Brigade - much of them consists of local east ukrainian citizens, so there is little confrontations with them. They are here against their will, moral is low and thus dont want to fight against own people. Thus they avoid any forceful confrontaiton with those units (by now Ukrainian goverment ordered disbandment of 25th brigade and prosecution of many servicemen).
- Knowint that rebels dont want to engage in conflicts with regular military like above, Kiev adapted it in own tactic: first they move normal servicement that dont want to fight to Rebel positions knowing rebels will not engage them. Using that, they build block posts, and after they are build deploy Right Sector, NazGuard and special forces units there, knowing they are willing to shot at rebels unlike regular army. Those units are "guarded" by regular army resulting in that they can operate against rebels, but rebels cant storm their positions (also has means) since that would involve the "meat shield" aka regular contract troops.
- So far rebels dont want to escalate the situation and engage in active combat, but if they will be given no choice, they`ll eventually have to actively fight back.
- About destroying helicopters: rebels claim they multiple days observed Kramatorsk airpots and had means and lots of opportunities to shot them down, but they did not do it to avoid casualties. They stop helicopter flights over city they demonstratively waited for a moment and picked a helicopter on a ground when it was pretty much empty to destroy it- when they seen its loaded with ammuniton and no crew inside.
- Right Sector tries to infiltrate Slavyansk, sometimes disguised as the rebels themselves. Rebels turn away such people or arrest in some cases. There were however multiple firefights and some RS casualties. At least one confirmed in captivity atm (the one that Kiev claims is just fitness trainer, but his brother claims otherwise and came to negitiate his freeing. Rebels claim he was part of firefight when 3 people from their side died, multiple RS people were killed back then as well.)
- about OSCE mission - they are held captive atm in good condition. He explicitely states its a military mission, with goal of observing military positions, in fact - the same mission that was expecting Russian borders before. What they forgot here he does not know, since its not their mandate at all - either using diplomatic status tried to spy for Ukrainian army or Ukrainian army being that dumb that plannig their mission they did not even knew where opposition blockposts were so did not anticipate such outcome. I.e. when rebels stopped the bus on blockpost and entered it - Ukrainian military men in panic started hiding their military documents, indicating they totally did not expect this. Says OSCE mission representatives unlike the Ukrainian collegues are very proffessional, calm and dont cause any troubles.
- claims around 80% of population wants to join Russia with Donezk Republic. Part does not want to join Russia, but at any rate dont want to be under control of Kievan junta.
- People keep joining the rebels, and more people joining with not local goals i.e. Donezk Republic, but brouder goals in sight with "freeing" ukraine from current Junta goverment.
- Says he is realist, Russia since the start did not offer any help at all, all weapons are captured or got from switched side Ukrainian military men and police. So he understands that no one will start WW3 over Slavyansk, and they can hope only on themselves and fulfil the local goals, since Russia unlikely to do anything.
- Complaints about Ukrainian SMI lies about them, Slavyansk etc. Says its such blatant bull**** and propaganda, easily refuted but spammed so it alienates local people even further. He says some people arriving there from West Ukrain in all serious belived the town is occupied by Russian GRU/mercenaries/bandits raping people etc. that for 1000 Grivna per day ready to kill women and children.
- Slavyansk agreed to come unter juresdiction of DNR to avoid having multiple random centers of ressitance, instead trying to organize together with others.
- Currently local Donezk and Lugansk ressitance movements try to organize together, says its difficult result, specially as among some groups theres lot of anarchy, but the process started."
