O&S Operating and Support Cost
Jenom upozorňuji, že údržba vrtulníků USMC odpovídají provozu v podmínkách USMC, proto jsem uvedl i předchozí generaci UH-1, jejichž zástupce můžeme najít i v civilním provozu.
The "Other" cost category above includes the following average annual cost per aircraft (in thousands): CLS, installation support, and overhaul and rework. CLS is accounted for in the "Other" cost category because it is power by the hour, which includes field and depot level maintenance as well as parts and labor supplied by the contractor. Lakota O&S unitized cost has decreased since 2011 from $801.3K to $766.0K per aircraft as a direct result of an decrease in the definitized CLS support cost per hour and a decrease in the total number of aircraft fielded from 345 to 315. However, the total O&S cost has increased since 2011 from $5,529M to $6,032.2M due to an increased useful life expectancy from 20 to 25 years.
Production of H-1 Upgrades aircraft continues at Bell Helicopter with final assembly and delivery occurring in Amarillo, Texas. There are 243 aircraft (Lots 1-12) on contract, which includes 148 UH-1Y, 37 AH-1Z remanufactured and 58 AH-1Z Build New (ZBN) aircraft. Lot 12 (FY 2015) also includes the first three of 12 AH-1Z Build New aircraft for Pakistan under FMS case PK-P-SBO. As of January 25, 2016, 174 production aircraft (127 UH-1Ys, 37 remanufactured AH-1Zs, and 10 ZBNs) have been delivered to the Fleet. All remaining AH-1Z deliveries are Build New aircraft.
Unit-Level Manpower: Cost of operators, maintainers, and other support manpower assigned to operating units. May include military, civilian, and/or contractor manpower.
Unit Operations: Cost of unit operating material (e.g., fuel and training material), unit support services, and unit travel. Excludes material for maintenance and repair.
Maintenance: Cost of all system maintenance other than maintenance manpower assigned to operating units. Consists of organic and contractor maintenance.
Sustaining Support: Cost of system support activities that are provided by organizations other than the system’s operating units.
Continuing System Improvements: Cost of system hardware and software modifications.
?Indirect support: repair of components at the intermediate maintenance activity which is normally accomplished off aircraft, e.g., hydraulic actuators, servos, and accumulators, aircraft engines, and transmissions.

Edit: Ještě jsem dal do porovnání MH-60S, který US Navy a USMC stále ještě přebírá, a UH-60L, ze kterého MH-60S konstrukčně vychází. Tím je možné aspoň trochu získat porovnání náročnosti námořního provozu.
